ACEJ and Alaska Press Club offer extra assistance with your Press Forward application to the national pooled fund

June 5, 2024 — With the approaching deadline for the first national open call from Press Forward seeking to address inequalities in journalism by investing in small, local newsrooms that provide original reporting in underserved communities, the Alaska Center for Excellence in Journalism and Alaska Press Club have secured additional assistance for newsrooms applying for this national funding. News organizations with budgets of up to $1 million are eligible. View additional eligibility requirements.

Newsrooms that meet the eligibility requirements and are applying for this Press Forward opportunity can sign up for remote office hours with an independent philanthropic advisor/coach on Monday, June 10, for a final application review before the June 12 deadline.

Sign up for office hours with Jennifer Preston, who was most recently at the Alaska Press Club Conference sharing research on journalism and philanthropy. Jennifer is the former VP/Journalism at the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and senior editor at The New York Times. You will need to send a copy of your completed application ahead of your call for review.

Sign up here for a 45-minute session.
